Customer Service Representative – Bernoulli’s Bagels

Position Purpose

Produces sales and profits by achieving sales goals and providing excellent customer service. Consistently maintains a “team-centered” atmosphere through embracing the mission statement and values of the Alma Mater society.  This food services role will require preparing and serving food products.

Term:                                      February-April 2012
Salary:                                    $9.50 per hour

THE SHIFTS THAT ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ARE:

  • Monday-Friday; 9am-11am
  • Mondays; 11am-1:30pm
  • Thursdays; 11am-1:30pm
  • Fridays; 11am-2pm
  • Saturdays; 10am-5pm

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer and sales service
  • Meets and exceeds sales goals by utilizing individual and team selling techniques.
  • Demonstrates great product knowledge and the ability to use this knowledge as a selling tool.
  • Promotes  Special Services such as recycling program and daily specials
  • Receives product and supplies in relation to store needs and stores them in appropriate areas
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of shelf life and is proficient in the product rotation and dating system.
  • Helps maintain cleanliness and organization of the outlet
  • Accurately and efficiently completes POS terminal transactions, and other record keeping procedures.
  • Protects store inventory by providing excellent customer service and adhering to loss prevention procedures, and by sharing any suspected policy violations with the Store Management
  • Supports and acts on company directives in a timely fashion, attends company workshop and staff meetings, keeps up to date on inter-store and office memos,  and promotes a positive company image to all staff and the general public.
  • Works closely and cooperatively with the Store Manager, and offers feedback and suggestions to support store goals.
  • Live the mission and values of the AMS daily
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be a currently registered UBC student
  • Flexibility for schedule (evenings, weekends and holidays)
  • Ability to lift up to 12 kgs
  • Ability to stand for 100% of shift
  • Motor skills required to pack products, perform general cleaning and operate the POS system
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Must have restaurant experience
