AMS statement on Abortion Awareness Project presence on campus

This week, a controversial pro-life display known as the Abortion Awareness Project or AAP has temporary been installed on campus depicting graphic images of abortion and cultural genocide. The AMS does not endorse the messaging of AAP, nor does it provide resources financially or otherwise support this project.

In recognition of the triggering nature of the images, the AMS has worked closely with the VP Students office and UBC Campus Security to ensure that the displays are re-located to areas of campus where students can avoid if they so choose.

The AMS Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) is open in Nest 3127 to provide support and resources to anyone affected by the AAP, as is UBC Counseling Services. If you would like to voice concerns about the conduct or content of the AAP displays, we advise you to contact the VP Students office directly.
