AMS stands in solidarity with students from Saudi Arabia

The Alma Mater Society is deeply concerned for the Saudi Arabian students who are being required to leave UBC and elsewhere in Canada. The disruption of our fellow students’ education and the lives they built here is distressing, leaving uncertain their academic and career opportunities. We are an organization that thrives on the diversity of our members, together building the rich academic, social, and cultural campus environment that we can call home for a while. UBC will experience a tremendous loss from the departure of hundreds of Saudi Arabian students who add value to our community through their ideas, talent, and involvement. The AMS supports these Saudi Arabian students and stands in solidarity with them, their friends, and family, who are impacted by this decision.
