The Student Society Emergency Aid Program

This program is a joint initiative of the AMS and the ministry of advanced education. The fund was established with the intent of providing emergency aid funding through student-raised money to assist needy students. The ministry of advanced education matches funds raised by the AMS, up to a maximum of $10,000 per year. In the past, the AMS has raised money for this program through student fees and the Welcome Back BBQ event.

Funds are distributed in the form of a bursary administered by UBC Student Financial Assistance & Awards. Please see the YouBC page on bursaries for more information on how to apply, or contact rella.ng@ubc.ca.
