| Using "Science as a Candle in the Dark" | |
Skepticism is a provisional approach to claims that goes hand-in-hand with the scientific method. Skeptics employ a naturalistic world-view free of supernatural explanations. The word "skeptic" is derived from the Greek word "skeptikos", which means "thoughtful", "reflective", or "inquiring." As skeptics, we strive to promote critical thinking and scientific inquiry, and follow Carl Sagan's words that "extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence." Come join the likes of Harry Houdini, James Randi, Richard Dawkins, Michael Shermer, and Penn and Teller, and help in the fight against pseudoscience! |
