Caroline Wong, VP Administration
The Vice President Administration is responsible for the workings of the Student Union Building, from ensuring the New SUB project is on track to managing the use, maintenance, and conditions of the current building, and is responsible for ensuring SUB businesses comply with the Society’s Ethical Purchasing Policy. The Vice President Administration represents the Society on a variety of UBC boards and committees, including the University Athletic Council and the Walter Gage Memorial Fund Committee, and chairs the Student Administrative Commission (SAC), offering guidance, room bookings, and office space to the over 300 AMS clubs. They are also responsible for the maintenance of the Whistler Lodge.
Biography
Hi there, my name is Caroline Wong and I am your VP Administration. I am a third year student in the Faculty of Arts planning to major in International Relations. Starting in my first year at UBC, I dove head first into student government serving as First Year Representative, AMS Representative and VP External of the Arts Undergraduate Society. I found endless opportunities in the AUS and AMS to improve student life, address student concerns and fuel my passion for helping others.
I am honoured to be given the opportunity to serve as your VP Administration. I will work towards keeping the New SUB Project on time and within budget, streamlining the Student Administrative Commission processes and improving the club experience, finding a long term solution for the Whistler Lodge and creating a more interactive Art Gallery. As well, one of the goals during my term is to connect with as many of our clubs as possible. I enjoy meeting new people and immersing myself in the wide variety of student activities on campus. If you represent a club or student group on campus, or if you have a question or concern regarding the AMS or a student related issue, feel free to drop by my office in SUB 238G, give me a call at (604) 822-3961 or send me an email at vpadmin@ams.ubc.ca. My door is open to everyone and I look forward to meeting you!
