Budget Committee

The AMS budget is over $12 million. Much of it comes from your student fees and the profit earned from AMS businesses. The best part about the $12 million plus is that it all goes back to you, the student, through students’ services, the health and dental plan, events like the Welcome Back BBQ and Firstweek, and lobbying efforts on your behalf to the provincial and federal governments. The AMS is a non-profit organization that ensures we maximize what we give back to you.

In addition to those powers and duties set out in the Bylaws, the Budget Committee shall:

  • Make recommendations about dealing with deficits
  • Distribute surpluses
  • Allocate surplus and non allocated revenue from donors and sponsors
  • Have such other duties as are assigned by Council from time to time
