Student Admin. Commission

The Student Administrative Commission (SAC) is a group of students who handle the administration of AMS clubs, constituencies, and resource groups.

SAC’s responsibilities include:

  • Regulating all bookings and functions in the SUB, including the AMS Art Gallery
  • Overseeing internal AMS groups
  • Acting as the official liaison between the AMS and more than 350 AMS clubs
  • Regulating the constitution and deconstitution of student clubs
  • Overseeing all functions in the SUB, including distribution and posting of materials

SAC Meetings

SAC meetings are held weekly. Meetings are generally open to the public, so if you wish to attend please contact the SAC vice chair at sacvc@ams.ubc.ca.

    • Acts as signing officer of the AMS
    • Reports the activities of the Commission to the AMS Student Council
  • Adam Melhem, Vice Chair

    • Acts as signing officer of the Commission, and reports directly to the VP Admin
    • Informs and communicates to the AMS’ membership the activities of the Commission
    • Handles correspondence for the Commission; Troubleshooting and conflict-resolution management for club-related issues
    • Convenes Grad Class Council
    • Organizes Clubs Days

    • Handles club administration and the implementation of policies of the Commission; reports directly to the VP Admin
    • Arranges meetings of the Commission; Prepares agendas and takes minutes of the meetings
    • Facilitates club consultations as well as club constitution presentations, and club de-constitution documents at SAC meetings
    • Enforces SAC policies in regards to the SUB
    • Handles allocation of club offices and lockers
    • Works closely with Bookings Commissioner in regards to the SUB
