Food Bank Services

Visit the SUB Room 58 (beside the UBC Wellness Centre) during operation hours and staff members will be able to assist you.

  • Food Hampers are designed to contain a seven-day emergency supply of food.
  • We also carry toiletries (toothpaste, deodorant, soap, shampoo, toilet paper), baby items (baby food, formula, diapers), and bulk foods such as flour, salt, sugar, and rice.
  • Because these items tend to be in short supply we ask that you request items that you need most.

Please Note:

  • The UBC/AMS Student Food Bank is meant as an emergency only service. It is meant to help students during a time of crisis.
  • To make sure food is available for everyone who needs it, we ask that users limit themselves to one bag of groceries for individuals.
  • There is a limit of six visits per family per semester. Staff will provide referrals to other Lower Mainland food banks and sources of financial assistance if these limits are not meeting your needs. We will not turn anyone away and we want to help.
  • Donations determine what we are able to give; therefore we cannot guarantee we will meet all individuals’ requests.
  • Please bring your own plastic bags and containers for oil and shampoo.
