About our program
Thank you for your interest in the AMS Volunteer Connect Internship Program. This program is a student service run by the Alma Mater Student Society of the University of British Columbia. We aim to provide students with opportunities to utilize and build their skill sets through connecting interested students with internship opportunities. We accept postings from employers in all fields and industries on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Interested employers are invited to submit internship postings with their company to the AMS Internship Office. We provide employers with an unlimited number of postings through our office which are advertised to students through our online databases on the AMS Website and UBC Career Services as well as bulletin boards in the central Student Union Building. Postings on our online database are viewed by over 15,000 UBC students monthly. Our office recruits and interviews student interns of all academic backgrounds and based on a referral and placement system we then contact employers with suitable candidate(s) who have displayed an interest in their posting. Following the referrals from the Internship Office, employers may select the candidate they find most suitable for the position.
Our program posts position that enable students to strengthen and build their skill sets. We accept both paid and unpaid postings. The AMS Internship Office provides access to workshops and resources for all our interns to enable them to solidify their skills and is committed to referring well prepared and enthusiastic interns to our employers.
