Resolve Internal Disputes
While internal disputes in leadership teams are a sign of dissatisfaction among team members, the conflict can be steered towards a productive direction. In a productive setting, settling a dispute is viewed as a matter of understanding one another, and working out a resolution that is practical, acceptable to, and understood by, stakeholders (the larger campus community may be a stakeholder, too, if they’re affected by the resolution).
The Ombuds Office can provide a facilitator to help resolve differences in your team and work out a communication framework for productive dialogue. This process is also referred to as mediation.
