Volunteer Match

Get involved! Volunteer Match is a 1-on-1 consultation service that helps you identify the best volunteer opportunities suited to your unique skills, interests, and career goals.  Whether you’re a first-time volunteer or a seasoned veteran, all students can benefit from learning more about the exciting opportunities available to them.  We’re also here to answer any questions you might have about volunteering, as well as offer advice on ensuring you receive the best volunteer experience possible – from communicating with supervisors to identifying learning goals.

Our consultation service is available free of charge to all currently registered UBC students on Vancouver Campus.

Volunteer Match is accessible on a drop-in basis (SUB 249C):

To set up an appointment, please email us at volunteers@ams.ubc.ca.

To help you get the most out of your consultation, it’s useful to come prepared having first thought about the following questions:

  • Why are you interested in volunteering?
  • What are your unique skills and talents?
  • What are your career goals?
  • What expectations do you have for your volunteer experience?
  • What are you hoping to learn during your placement?

Volunteer Database

AMS Volunteer Connect also operates a volunteer database, which contains hundreds of students who have indicated they would be interested in receiving regular updates regarding new volunteer opportunities relevant to their skills and interests.  As we receive information about opportunities on UBC campus, in the Lower Mainland, or abroad, we will deliver updates to students in our database depending on their listed interests.

If you would like to have your name listed in our database, please contact us at volunteers@ams.ub.ca, or drop by our office (SUB 249C) for more information.

Be specific! Select only your most important goal(s) and only include relevant information. This service is intended to help narrow down your search, not to read your mind!
