Externship

This program is a proud partnership between AMS Connect and UBC Alumni Affairs.

What is an Externship?

Externships are one to five day long job shadowing experiences for students to observe professionals in career fields of their interest on the job. Students are able to experience the work environment, daily tasks and responsibilities for professionals as well as ask questions and receive tips from employees in the work place. They differ from internships in that they are short term placements intended to give students information about career fields rather than to provide tangible work experience in the field. They function as extended informational interviews and are a great introduction to a potential career path.
