Give when you can. Take when you need.
The AMS Food Bank is an emergency food relief service for UBC students in need. We offer various non-perishable foods, personal hygiene supplies, and information about additional resources on and off campus.
Using the Food Bank
- All UBC students with a valid student ID card are welcome to use the Food Bank.
- Our clients are welcome to use the Foodbank up to 6 times a semester. This policy is in place to ensure that there are sufficient supplies of food for everyone in need.
- Upon each visit, individual customers receive one bag of groceries of their own preferences and families receive two.
- Blue reusable bags are $2 dollars, however new clients receive a complimentary bag on their first visit. The Foodbank strives to be an eco-friendly and a sustainable service for those around us, therefore we ask our visitors to bring back their blue bags each time they visit for sustainability purposes.
If our resources are not meeting your needs, our staff will provide referrals to other Lower Mainland food banks and sources of financial assistance. We will not turn anyone away.
We have moved! Food Bank is located in room 2131 in the Nest. It is nearby the piano on the second floor and the rock climbing wall.
