Kasha Foster, Associate Vice-President Sustainability

Kasha is a 4th year student in the Global Resource Systems Program, focusing her studies on sustainability. She enjoys helping students pursue projects that provide innovative solutions to sustainability challenges, and is particularly passionate about waste management and the prospects of zero waste initiatives. Within the AMS and on a number of UBC committees, Kasha represents the voice of students concerned about sustainability. For inquiries regarding new project ideas, existing projects and programs, event collaboration, operational sustainability at the AMS, participation on the Sustainability Projects Fund Committee, and anything else related to sustainability, get in touch with Kasha and she will ensure you receive the support you need.

Marina, Sustainability Project Coordinator

Marina is in her final year at UBC, majoring in Political Science and Economics, and is especially interested in the politics of climate change. She’s also passionate about progressive waste management solutions, waste diversion, and the creation of circular economies. Within the AMS and in collaboration with SEEDS, Marina is responsible for the oversight of projects related to sustainability, offering groups the resources and support they need to successfully complete projects. In her spare time, you can find her hiking, volunteering with the non-profit SPEC, or tending to her vegetable garden.

Colton, Sustainability Funds Administrator

Colton is responsible for managing the SPF and ensuring that the AMS builds an impactful portfolio of sustainability projects. He is passionate about and creating tangible, lasting solutions to environmental issues, both on campus and beyond. Prior to working at the AMS, he co-founded the UBC Environmental Policy Association, and served as an executive for Singapore’s largest student-led environmental group, NUS SAVE. He also works for a non-profit, researching and implementing Indigenous ecosystems management and stewardship programs. Outside of work, he enjoys volunteering for local environmental projects, keeping up with progressive public policy, and exploring the wilderness of BC.

Alice, Sustainability Outreach Coordinator

Alice is a second year student in the faculty of Science and is passionate about creating socially just and environmentally friendly food systems, as well as an efficient waste diversion program on campus. She will be helping to coordinate the Zero Waste Squad, and connecting different sustainability initiatives to facilitate communication between groups. For any inquiries about promoting a sustainability initiative, or needing assistance in outreach, Alice will assist in directing to the right channel.
