Clubs and Societies Committee

The Clubs and Societies Committee shall serve as a forum to centralize, and organize, and administer the Society’s Clubs and Societies.

Terms of Reference

The Clubs and Societies Committee shall be composed of:

  • the Vice-President Administration, who shall be Chair;
  • the Associate Vice-President Administration;
  • the Associate Vice President Finance, or Financial Coordinator as determined by the Vice-President Finance;
  • the Clubs Administrator;
  • the Clubs and Commuters Resource Coordinator; and
  • three (3) non-Executive Council members;.

The Vice-President Administration shall call meetings of the Clubs and Societies Committee least once every two weeks during the School Year and at the discretion of the Vice-President Administration from May to August to fulfill the Committee’s responsibilities as listed below.

The Clubs and Societies Committee shall:

  • establish regulations for clubs and other recognized student subsidiary organizations and publish such regulations in the Clubs and Societies Policy Handbook;
  • do intake for new club applications in June, September, and January, and complete the approval process for new clubs within a month of each intake (i.e., in July, October, and February);
  • approve renewals of existing clubs once a year by July 1;
  • deconstitute inactive clubs or clubs in poor standing;
  • review and update club support strategies and policies;
  • have such other duties as are outlined in the Bylaws or the Code or assigned by Council from time to time.

Meeting Times

The Clubs and Societies Committee meets every second week in room 3511 from 12pm to 1pm, starting November 10th.
