Are you passionate about safety and looking for a flexible part-time opportunity? AMS Safewalk is hiring Safewalkers and Drivers for the 2024-2025 academic year! Safewalk provides a free service to accompany students, staff, and visitors across campus at night, ensuring a safer and more welcoming UBC community. Join us in making a difference while earning $17.96 per hour! Position Details:

• Position Title: Safewalker and/or Safewalk Driver
• Employee Status: Temporary, part-time until April 30, 2025
• Hours Per Week: 10-20 hours (minimum 12 hours availability or 2 shifts per week)
• Pay Rate: $17.96 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Walk or drive clients safely between points on campus.
• Maintain visibility and accountability during patrols.
• Promote Safewalk services and participate in campaigns.
• Complete necessary documentation and act professionally as an AMS representative.

Requirements:

• Must be a currently registered UBC student.
• Must be available for late-night and weekend shifts.
• Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent (mandatory for driving roles; an asset for non-drivers).
• Minimum 12 hours of weekly availability.
• Willing to submit a criminal record check.
• Mandatory training on January 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
