The Hatch Art Gallery, like the rest of the AMS, is run for students, by students. Having an exhibition space and permanent collection gives us really cool opportunities to connect students with local artists and student artists with the local art scene.

Originally opened in 1970, the Hatch Art Gallery moved around the old Student Union Building until it finally found its home in the award-winning Student Nest. Taken with the as-of-yet-unnamed performance art space in the central atrium of the Student Nest, the Hatch Art Gallery represents the best possible opportunity to showcase student art and talent.

In addition to biweekly exhibitions of student and local art, the Hatch Art Gallery also maintains and displays the increasingly impressive Permanent Collection, an assortment of 72 pieces of Canadian art that provide a cross section of artistic growth and development in Canada since 1945.

If you’d like the Hatch Art Gallery to showcase your work, submit an application here.
