October Long Weekend Nest Hours

Masks No Longer Mandatory at the AMS Nest

June 29, 2022

In keeping with UBC measures and public health information, the wearing of masks will no longer be mandatory inside the NEST on June 30, 2 022 – this includes all spaces inside the building.

While the AMS is lifting the mask mandate, other safety measures in the Nest will remain in place including:

  • Hand sanitizing stations at entrances and other high traffic areas
  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of tables, chairs and high-touch surfaces
  • Physical barriers at food outlets and service counters

We encourage everyone to continue wearing a mask and respect the comfort levels of those around them. Individual clubs, student groups, businesses and services may still require masks to be worn at their events or spaces.

COVID-19 is still a highly transmissible disease and the AMS strongly encourages individuals to keep themselves and the community healthy and safe by:

  • Continuing to wear a mask indoors, particularly in tight spaces
  • Being respectful of the comfort levels of those around you
  • Getting vaccinated
  • Maintain a physical distance of 2 metres whenever possible
  • Regularly washing your hands
  • Staying home if you’re feeling unwell

Thank you everyone for your patience, cooperation and understanding over the past couple of years. We will continue to monitor Provincial Health Orders and adjust our policies accordingly.
