Audrey Xue

Hi, I’m Audrey, an aspiring CPA in the Diploma in Accounting program with experience in project management, business development, and financial budgeting. My goal is to restore financial transparency, accountability and operational efficiency within AMS.

For clubs, my office will shorten club reimbursement times, automate request intake, simplify grant categories and implement a 48-hour response policy. The current accounting system will be upgraded to support fully digital, paperless financial operations.

I will also raise opt-out awareness of the $388 Health & Dental Plan and educate students on existing public benefits including publicly funded mental health services.

With the structural deficit nearing $1 million still, we should maintain budgetary controls and build reliable revenue streams. I will review current expenditures to identify areas we can improve cost efficiency. In addition, I will introduce a revenue-sharing initiative to foster student startups, guided by volunteer alumni and faculty mentors.

Iman Dhaliwal

My priority is ensuring student money is managed responsibly, transparently, and invested where it has the most impact on student life. With experience managing a $600K portfolio in the Student Managed Fund at the University of Toronto and working with the Management & Economics Students Association, I understand how to manage resources responsibly and deliver for students. After coming to a better university, UBC, I’ve had the chance to hear directly from clubs and students about the changes they want to see.

  • Better social spaces and events, including The Pit and Block Party
  • Strengthen AMS Food Bank partnerships and negotiate better event and ticketing agreements
  • Prioritize clubs through fee subsidies and smoother financial processes

Through serving in the British Columbia Youth Parliament and launching events such as Mental Health Puppies, I’ve combined advocacy with action. As the recipient of Youth Volunteer of the Year by the Vancouver Police Department and Outstanding Community Youth Award by the Township of Langley, I commit to serving the community and students.

I’m asking for the opportunity to serve and deliver what students want to see.

Nathan Shack

My name is Nathan and I am running to be your AMS VP Finance!

I am the current AMS AVP Finance where I oversee a $35M operating budget and lead initiatives on improving our financial processes. My experience has shown me the difficulties that our student body faces, and I am committed to making changes that will work for you:

Health and Dental Plan Enhancements

  • Increase the mental health benefit maximum by $250, raising total coverage to $1,500
  • Assess the feasibility of additional plan options for students, including tiered coverage or multiple flexible plans focused on Health, Dental, or Vision benefits.

Supporting Clubs and Constituencies

  • Implement a multi-session treasurer training program focused on practical experience that equips treasurers with skills for the role.
  • In collaboration with accounting, explore the feasibility of a streamlined user-friendly payment submission portal.

Financial Sustainability

  • Develop a new three-year financial plan to correct ongoing deficits and strengthen the AMS’s long-term financial health.
  • A comprehensive review of AMS businesses that includes student input with focus groups and surveys
