Candidate Bios - VP External Affairs

Vote yes to Solomon and an AMS that works for you! This past year, drama in the AMS has had bad effects on student advocacy. Over the last year, I’ve pushed for accessibility on Senate, I’ve worked on the BC Provincial Election, and pushed for the government to save 25 sexual health clinics in BC. With my strong advocacy experience, you can count on me to keep out of drama and do the work you elected me to do. As your VP External, I will focus on;

• Housing: an AMS student housing survey, more student housing near campus, and applying BC tenant rights to student residences
• Affordability: more student loan money, more student health and dental coverage, more AMS foodbank funding
• Transportation: Fixing the R4 and 99, a Richmond-UBC direct bus, skytrain to UBC, BC Ferries student rate
• Jobs: more worklearn and library funding, a Canada Youth Climate corps, helping student workers unionize
• Reconciliation: increase ISC Indigenous Student Support funding, Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ signs in the nest, and an Indigenous Representative to university senates
• Accessibility: improve the disability benefit and disabilities student loan forgiveness
