Club Membership Fee Subsidy Form

The recent code changes made June 1, 2022 state that the Clubs Benefit Fund can now be used to assist students with financial need through a membership fee subsidy. Through the application, students may be granted a subsidy depending on the membership fee to decrease financial barriers to getting involved inthe UBC community. As funding for these subsidies is limited, your ability to demonstrate financial hardship does not guarantee a subsidy. Please note that students must be an active AMS member to be eligible for the Club Membership Fee Subsidy.

The maximum amount an individual can receive is subject to approval based on financial need. The applications will be reviewed fairly and based on an objective rubric.

Please note that the club(s) must be active and in good financial standing within the AMS for students to be eligible to receive the subsidy for the club membership fee.

Demonstration of Financial Need

Students must upload any material that demonstrates their financial hardship. This includes but is not limited to student loan documents, a brief statement explaining their circumstances, proof of medical expenses, and/or rental agreements. Bank account balances are not accepted as supporting documentation. All documents are stored securely and are destroyed after review.
