U-Pass Fee Subsidy Application

If you are experiencing genuine financial hardship, you may be eligible either for a full or partial U-Pass Subsidy. The AMS provides these subsidies to help students facing financial challenges offset some of their expenses. To learn more visit our Funds, Grants and Subsidies page.

The subsidy is different than the exemption. If you are living outside of the Lower Mainland and/or eligible for the U-pass exemption, please apply to be exempt instead. DO NOT APPLY FOR A SUBSIDY. Visit the U-Pass BC page for more information.

All subsidy applicants must provide at least one supporting document that demonstrates their financial needs. Once the final date for applications passes, the AMS Finance Department will review all applications and will rank each one, according to the greatest financial need. As funding for these subsidies is limited, your ability to demonstrate financial hardship does not guarantee a subsidy. Please note that students must be eligible for the U-Pass to be eligible for the U-Pass subsidy.

Information collected in this form is subject to the BC Personal Information and Protection Act and will only be used by AMS employees for the purposes of determining eligibility for fee subsidies.

Only successful applicants will receive notification in the form of a credit on their student financial account.

Please note that due to overwhelming responses, the processing time of these applications will take longer than usual. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

The application period open and close dates for Winter 2024/2025:

  • Term 2: January 6, 2025 – February 10, 2025
