The AMS Student Nest offers a club exclusive meeting room on the Lower Level of the Life Building, available to book by current AMS Clubs without an assigned office. This room is a quiet, enclosed space designed to support focused work, club meetings, and collaborative projects. This room is equipped with a table and eight chairs, a small whiteboard for brainstorming or notes (bring your own dry erase markers), and a TV monitor with HDMI cable connection for screen sharing or presentations.
This space can only be booked by clubs without access to an AMS Club Office
The Normand Bouchard Memorial Theatre is a 395 seat theatre, with in-house lighting and sound systems built to accommodate a wide variety of events from Movie Nights, Variety Shows, Film Festivals, lectures, fundraisers, dance performances and shows, live music, and more. Due to high end audio/visual equipment, the Norm Theatre is operated by the UBC Film Society.
To book the space with use of the in-house A/V system (e.g. movie night, film screening, etc.), bookings must be made through the UBC Film Society at bookings@ubcfilmsociety.ca.
The Osprey Lounge & Terrace is an inviting indoor-outdoor venue ideal for gatherings of up to 60 people. The main lounge features six foldable tables and 30 chairs, which booking parties may arrange as needed and return to their original position within the booking window. Inside, a small pocket lounge at the rear seats up to six and includes a low table. Beyond the lounge, a private terrace offers a partially covered patio with exterior lighting, creating a relaxed setting for both daytime and evening events. The terrace is wheelchair accessible by ramp, however, door widths should be confirmed prior to booking to ensure the space is fully accessible.
This furniture must remain in place to preserve the condition of the seating and flooring. The space is best suited for receptions, casual meetings, or social events that benefit from access to fresh air and flexible seating arrangements.
This space is unavailable for booking Monday – Wednesday evenings (Mon & Tues, 4:00 PM – close and Wed, 6:00 PM- close).
The Michael Kingsmill Forum offers a private space in a formal Board style room, perfectly suited for professional presentations or governance-related meetings. This space is ready with AV equipment including a large presentation monitor, as well as microphones for discussion. MKF is not intended for general or casual use. This space is reserved exclusively for Council and Constituency related functions. Its unique features, including carpeted flooring and high-end audio equipment, require careful stewardship to preserve its condition and functionality.
Use of this space is restricted to formal Council and Constituency functions, exceptions may be approved on a case-by-case basis by the VP Admin
The Performance Theatre is a flexible black-box space suitable for presentations, performances, and small events. It features an open layout, blackout curtains, and built-in audiovisual systems to support a range of setups. A backstage green room provides additional space for preparation or small group use.
