U-Pass BC Exemption Form

You may be eligible for the exemption offered by the AMS if you meet the following:

  • If you live outside of Metro Vancouver AND all of the classes you are taking are online/not in-person on the Vancouver campus in 2024/25 Winter Term 2 (January to April, 2025)
  • You can also be eligible for this exemption if you are a Co-op or practicum student living outside of Metro-Vancouver while on placement.

If one of these two criteria applies to you, be sure to apply for an exemption by Friday, January 24th 2025. (Applications for Term 2 exemptions are now closed)

Please note that due to the large volumes of applications we are receiving, the processing times for AMS U-PASS EXEMPTIONS could range between 15 to 21 business days.

The UBC regular U-Pass Exemption is separate from the AMS U-Pass exemption.

INFORMATION REGARDING REGULAR U-PASS EXEMPTIONS (applied via WORKDAY):

If you meet the regular U-Pass exemption criteria, such as being unable to use the U-Pass due to a disability, you may apply for an exemption by creating a request (SF U-Pass Exemption) in Workday. The deadline to apply for an exemption is Fri, Jan 17th 2025.
