You may be eligible for the exemption offered by the AMS if you meet the following criteria:

• If you live outside of Metro Vancouver AND all of the classes you are taking are online/not in-person on the Vancouver campus in 2025 Winter Term 2 (January to April, 2026)
• You can also be eligible for this exemption if you are a Co-op or practicum student living outside of Metro-Vancouver while on placement.

If one of these two criteria applies to you, be sure to apply for an exemption by January 23, 2026.

The UBC regular U-Pass Exemption is separate from the AMS U-Pass exemption.

INFORMATION REGARDING UBC REGULAR U-PASS EXEMPTIONS (applied via WORKDAY):

If you meet the regular U-Pass exemption criteria, such as being unable to use the U-Pass due to a disability, you may apply for an exemption by creating a request (SF U-Pass Exemption) in Workday. The deadline to apply for an exemption is January 16, 2026.
