Summer 2026 Transit Subsidy

You Must Apply Each Month

The subsidy is offered on a monthly basis so you must apply each month to be considered. The form opens the 3rd of each month and closes on 14th of the same month.

Terms & Conditions

You need to apply for each month to avail the subsidy, providing incomplete or different documents wont give you the subsidy even though you were approved before.

If your application is successfully submitted and received, you will receive an email that confirms it has been received. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please fill out and submit the application again, as it was not received before.

We cannot accept revisions to your application over phone or email. Once you have submitted the application, the information provided is final and we cannot alter your application for failure of providing accurate information. We also will not accept email applications past the deadline.

Please provide the address that you will be living at during the period in which you are requesting the subsidy.The AMS U-Pass subsidy team has the right to deny your application if you apply using an address outside of Metro-Vancouver or fail to submit any of the requested documents.

You will only receive a follow-up email from the AMS if your application has been denied or accepted once the decision had been made.

If your application has been accepted, your SSC account will be credited $30.50 or $40.50 or $55, depending on each zone and for each month you are approved for.

Once the final date for applications passes, the AMS External Office will review all applications and will rank each one, according to the greatest financial need. As funding for these subsidies is limited, your ability to demonstrate financial hardship does not guarantee a subsidy.

Please note that due to overwhelming responses, the processing time of these applications will take longer than usual. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Please expect at least 14-21 business days after the application deadline to hear from our office.
